Bella Crane creates exclusive fragrance range for Jamie at Home

Jamie at Home's fragrance collection, Scent & Savour, offers four fragrances, two female and two unisex, all of which also come in bath & body products.

Bella Crane, founder of fine perfumery brand Bella Bellissima, and Jamie Oliver have been great friends for a number of years, and Jamie is a huge fan of the Bella Bellissima collection. It was therefore no surprise when Jamie asked Bella to create an exclusive fragrance range for his direct sales enterprise, Jamie at Home. Bella has always believed in a synergy between food and fragrance, and this was her opportunity to explore this. Together they have created four distinctive fragrances using Jamie’s passion for diverse ingredients such as Yuzu limes, Meyer lemons, and Habanero chillies, and Bella’s expertise in bringing sumptuous fragrances together.

Bella comments, ‘Food, like perfumery, is linked to both nature and the earth. Both are creative processes and pieces of art. As in cooking, in perfumery, you combine raw ingredients to create an emotional response. A response you take pleasure from.’

The fragrances for all Scent & Savour products are designed by Bella Bellissima and the concentrate is produced in Grasse, the home of fine fragrance, and all of the finished products are hand made in the UK. Every single Scent & Savour item is created with very high levels of bespoke perfume, and all carrier bases are formulated to take the highest purity of fragrance – resulting in an extremely rich, fragrant collection with an incredibly long-lasting scent.

FEMALE FRAGRANCES

A Splash of Pomegranate, Tiare & Peach Blossom
A fruity splash of wild pomegranate, cassis, and pink grapefruit is softened by floral notes of creamy Tahitian tiare and delicate peach blossom, blended with spiced woods and caramelised praline for a delicious scent. The range includes an Eau de Parfum, £28 for 100ml (far right), Nourishing Body Cleanser, £14, Hydrating Body Balm, £16 and a Creamy Bath Milk, £18 (right).

A Sprinkle of Crystallised Violet, Attar of Rose, & Midnight Jasmine
Inspired by French patisseries, this floral fragrance is layered with sweet crystallised violets, precious rose oil and midnight jasmine, softened with pink magnolia and orange blossom, and balanced with warm sandalwood and vanilla sugar for a delicate scent. This range also includes an Eau de Parfum, £28 (far left) for 100ml, Nourishing Body Cleanser, £14, Hydrating Body Balm, £16 (left) and a Creamy Bath Milk, £18.

UNISEX FRAGRANCES

A Dash of Meyer Lemon, Blue Ice Lavender & Mint
The sharp yet sweet aroma of Chinese Meyer lemons blended with tangerine and green bergamot is cooled by English blue ice lavender and fresh mint, while the fiery fruitiness of Habanero chillies and the spiciness of star anise complete this distinctive scent. This range includes an Eau de Parfum, £28 for 100ml, and a Total Hair & Body Wash, £13 (both shown right).

A Twist of Yuzu Lime, Green Tea and Cedar
A zesty cocktail inspired by the East, this uplifting combination of the rare and precious Yuzu lime, fragrant green tea and sunny bergamot is enriched by warm cedar, soft mosses and deep amber for a sparkling, vibrant scent. The collection includes an Eau de Parfum, £28 for 100ml (far left), a Total Hair & Body Wash, £13 and Soap on a Rope, £10 (left).

Tips from Bella on wearing personal fragrance:
• “Fragrance lasts much longer on skin that is moisturised – it flies off of dry, dehydrated skin and so you will need to re-apply more often.
• To create a long-lasting effect, ‘layer’ your fragrance by using complementary bath and body products.
• Apply your eau de parfum to the wrists, inner elbows, the neck, collarbone and even behind the knees – all pulse points which naturally release scent as they warm. I was even told by a French perfumer to apply it to the soles of your feet – but that’s up to you!”
