Vitamin E plays an important role in protecting the skin from environmental and oxidative damage. It is an exceptionally efficient scavenger of free radicals, thus protecting skin lipids from oxidation and providing significant anti-ageing properties. Vitamin E can be either synthetic (DL-á-tocopherol) or derived from natural sources (D-á-tocopherol). Natural vitamin E is clinically proven to be up to twice more antioxidant than the synthetic form.
